Town of Princeton, Mass. – April 19, 2016 – 4:30 pm
Meeting Minutes  -  PBMLP

4:35 PM   Meeting opened with PBMLP members Stan Moss, chair, Edith Morgan, Jon Fudeman and T.A. Nina Nazarian, Asst. Mgr Marty Dell’Erba, and John Kowaleski
Marty reported on pole work progress and PMLD can start some of it immediately without Verizon. He explained that the figures approved in 2015 have changed, including for police detail, and he recommended rescinding the original.
Stan and Edith voted and Jon abstained, to amend the previously approved funds for make-ready, from $357,000 to $421,300.
Group discussed the original installation of fiber in town by MBI, running a total of 12 miles and accessing several municipal buildings at a cost of $89,000. The new fiber design cannot utilize that installation for technical reasons (not built to accommodate additional capacity), however the Town has asked MBI a couple of times if it can overlash to save funds. Town is still waiting for a response from MBI.
The group had discussed using a bonus to vendors for eliminating change-orders, and Marty reported that according to Special Counsel, it was possible however that such a bonus must be included in the initial bid contract documents.
After the volunteer Q&A at the Post Office on Saturday, about 12 residents signed up and the total is now around 318.
John K. asked Jon F. for an update on the risk-assessment. Jon said the assessment was moving along, but drafts would not be released yet, as he insisted it must be bulletproof. Stan asked about the alternative: an “opportunity” analysis.

5 PM  Board voted to adjourn
